Need in Wyoming

Wyoming is the only state in the United States that does not have a children's hospital or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Families who have an infant prematurely must be sent out of state to Montana, South Dakota, Utah or Colorado to get the life saving medical care needed. Wyoming first and only board certified Neonatologist who has a private pediatric practice in Casper Wyoming teamed up with a group  of Moms who have personal experience with having a preterm infant and the cost that comes with it. We recognized the need that families dealing with prematurity have and the greater need for a way to provide it. So with the help of Casper Children's Center and It's for the Children Foundation we created Before 37 in 307. It is our goal to come together as a state to assist families who are struggling due to the financial and emotional burdens that are caused by having a premature infant getting care out of state. Neighbors helping Neighbors is Wyoming's way. We have held several fundraisers, created an website and are in the process of creating an app. We have already been able to provide financial, in kind and emotional support to several families in the state.
